What is collected
A username and a password, which is stored only as a scrypt hash and cannot be read back. The topics you subscribe to. The accounts you block. Chat messages you post. A session cookie so you stay signed in.
If you turn on alerts, the push subscription your browser generates, plus the alert rules you chose. That subscription identifies a device, not a person.
What is not collected
No email address, phone number, real name, location, contacts, photos, or payment details. No advertising identifiers. No analytics or tracking of any kind. Nothing is sold, rented, or shared with third parties, because nothing is collected that anyone would want.
Where it lives
In one SQLite file on the server that runs this instance. Headlines older than the retention window are deleted automatically, as are old chat messages once a room passes its size limit.
Third parties
The server fetches public RSS and JSON feeds from news publishers. Those requests come from the server, not from your device, so publishers never see your address. Opening a headline is an ordinary link to that publisher, who then sees you as any visitor would be seen.
Deleting your data
Delete your account inside the app, under your username. It is immediate and there is no recovery.
